Feeling Young

Happy Half Century

Happy Half Century

My birthday was last month. Didn’t mention it because I was trying to ignore it. Why is an zero-year no different than any other number, but so psychologically fraught?

I spent the day with friends…
Rodney's Saga bday Dash IIIRodney's Saga bday Sam
…………………………………………………………………………………………………….
… and found a goal for which I am underage, the Dressage Foundation’s Century Club, from the inspirationally cute story here. As best I can calculate, one has to be 70 and probably closer to 80 to join. Going on my life list.

I was 50 last year. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Weird, isn’t it?

Loved the link to the Century Club. Getting closer and closer. Funny thing is, when I was 20, 30, 40 and even 50, 60 looked OLD. The closer I get to 60, (next month!!) it doesn’t look old at all! In fact, it feels right. I consider the zero-years as survival awards.

happy 50! hope you got the little trinket i sent.
i’ll be looking forward to pix of you at the century club!
for some reason, birthdays with 5 or 0 are really – well, they make you feel older, somehow. i’ve got 2 years till the big 60, and that is a scarey thought!
you are very lucky, getting to follow your heart thru your life.
